BrainHoney grants access to its data according to the access rights of each user. For example, there is a right for reading courses and one for creating user accounts.
You can combine access rights together to create pre-defined roles. There are three categories of rights or permissions:
The administrative screens from which you grant rights to a user show a list of pre-defined roles along with a checkbox list of all rights that you can assign. When you choose a pre-defined role, the appropriate rights checkboxes check or uncheck according to the role's definition. After you choose a role, you can check or un-check any of the checkboxes to control exactly which rights the user receives.
When your domain was configured, it inherits from its parent domain any existing role definitions. These are the roles that appear by default in your domain's roles lists, but you can create your own custom roles if you choose. Some example roles are course author, teacher, teaching assistant, student, course auditor, domain administrator, help desk administrator, and course coordinator.
You can create and customize as many roles as necessary so that role choices are natural and meaningful to those who manage your domain.
