Importing Courses from a Batch File

Importing course allows you to set up many course in one process. To import courses, you will first need to create a tab-delimited text file (.txt) or a comma separated (.csv) file that includes at least two key fields.

Often you want to start with another course, the base course. You need to specify how the new course relates to the base course with a Copy Action. You can also create a new, empty course by not specifying a base course.

We recommend that all batch imports of courses specify an external ID for courses in the import file. The external ID property is specified by the user and should contain a unique ID for the item. Typically, the external ID corresponds to the course's ID in another system at your institution.

Note: BrainHoney does not enforce uniqueness of the Course External ID.

Following are the supported fields for batch importing courses. See Domain Identifiers on how to specify different domains.
